About our concrete contractor team in Bridgeport

A wide, curved concrete driveway with expansion joints leads to a stone-fronted house beneath mature trees.

How I came to pour concrete in Bridgeport

I taught myself concrete work on my own place and on small side jobs, then learned the rest on other crews before I started J&R Bridgeport Concrete Construction in 2017. I'm careful and exact by nature, so our forms get checked to the line, and the base, the packed layer the slab sits on, gets done right before any concrete goes in.

Most of our calls come from homeowners in Bridgeport and the cities around it who want a driveway, patio, steps or walk that stays flat and drains away from the house. We also hear from small business owners with lots and walks to redo. The base and where the water runs are the parts you can't see once the pour is done, and they decide how concrete holds up, so that's where I put my attention. You'll find the full list of what we build on our home page.

What working with us looks like

Here's what you can expect from your first call to the day the concrete goes in, based on how I run every estimate and every job.

  • The same person from estimate to pour

I come out to measure your job and write the estimate myself, and I'm on site when the concrete goes in. Our own crew does the work, so you're never handed off to someone who hasn't seen your driveway.

  • An estimate you can compare line by line

Your written estimate spells out the base work, the mix and what's included, like removal and hauling. That way you can lay two quotes side by side and see where they really differ.

  • Straight answers, even when the job gets smaller

If waiting or a simpler fix serves you better than new concrete, I'll tell you. When something needs a closer look, I'll say let me check instead of guessing.

Licensing, insurance and permits for your job

  • Licensed and fully insured.

It's a fair thing to ask any contractor before they work on your property. Bring it up at the estimate and we'll go over it with you.

  • Permits handled with the local office

In Bridgeport, the Building Department issues building permits, and some concrete work, like a retaining wall over 3 feet high, needs one. When your job needs a permit, we handle the application as your contractor and show you the permit before work starts, because the city holds you, the owner, responsible for making sure it's in place.
